Roni Stoneman

Roni Stoneman may be best known to audiences for her regular appearances during the 20-year run of "Hee Haw," but her bluegrass credentials are impeccable. Her father, Ernest V. "Pop" Stoneman, grew up near Galax, VA and was a pioneer in early country music. In 1924 he recorded country music's first million-seller, "The Sinking of the Titanic," and in 1927 recorded at and assisted with the legendary Bristol Sessions organized by Ralph Peer. Roni began her banjo picking and singing at age four when she performed with her family at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. She went on to become the first female banjo player to record a bluegrass tune when she appeared on the 1956 album "American Banjo, Scruggs Style." A veteran of major musical venues, including the Grand Ole Opry, she and The Stoneman Family won the first CMA award for Best Vocal Group in 1967. The First Lady of Banjo, accompanied by Storm, marks her first appearance at The Lincoln Theatre with this Song of the Mountains concert.

Lost & Found

The Lost & Found is a fine bluegrass band from Woolwine, Virginia. Originally formed in 1973 by Allen Mills and Dempsey Young the band was "lost" in other kinds and styles of music until they "found" each other. That's where the name came from. The Lost & Found is one of the most respected names in bluegrass music. The group started getting national recognition in 1980 when they signed with Rebel Records in Roanoke, VA. The Lost & Found have many recordings to their credit over the years and are always entertaining. They provide some great instrumental arrangements with their music and excellent vocal harmonies. www.LostandFoundBluegrass.com
