Paul Williams & the Victory Trio

Paul Williams and The Victory Trio have been playing bluegrass gospel tunes since their formation in 1995, but Williams' music career began at the age of nine when his father gave him an A model Gibson mandolin. From there, Williams went on to play at prayer meetings and church services in east Tennessee before turning his talents to bluegrass. He joined The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers (1950-53) and then spent six years as one of Jimmy Martin's Sunny Mountain Boys. Although he retired from the bluegrass circuit when he found his faith in 1963, Paul continued playing the mandolin in religious settings until beginning his work with The Victory Trio. In 1999, Williams was inducted into the Hall of Greats by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America. His latest album, Living on the Hallelujah Side, features Jerry Keys (banjo), Ned Cutshaw (lead guitar), Jeff Orr (rhythm guitar), Susie Keys (bass) and Keith Williams (fiddle). www.rebelrecords.com
